Hello and welcome to my blog, an account of our sail around Great Britain during 2015 and 2016. The sail is being undertaken by my friend Roger and I, and with friends who wish to sail either part of the way or all of the way with us. We are using the voyage as a means of raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. We are keen to hear from anyone who is interested in the project, and anyone who wishes to join the crew. I do hope you enjoy following the blog. Michael.

Going......
It's sun shining and blowing a fair old wind, very cold. Another yacht
left earlier to day with 3 reefs. We're planning to 'take a look' after
lunch. If we don't like it we can of course return. Expecting F6 bitter
cold winds and large waves, perhaps 3m. The good new is that the wind
will be mostly from behind, and most of the trip will be in daylight.
Our intended destination is Brighton. Seen enough of Gosport for now.

Yes should be OK. Running with a small fores`l. Tide in channel running against you will be kicking up a nasty sea off Selsey Bill. From Southsea go out on a course SE until you are decently South of latitude of Selsey Bill before turning East. Soon as past the Bill gibe and make in towards Bognor to get in lea of the land a bit. The sea where a bit shallow from Southsea towards Selsey Bill has tendency to kick up abnormal waves. Small boat founder area! Bon voyage! Brian.
